Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) will survey residents this month, asking them to rate their satisfaction with Council services.

The Toowoomba Region Community Survey will be administered by independent market research consultants, IRIS Research, from 21 August to 15 September, 2017.

Toowoomba Region Mayor Paul Antonio said the survey would assess community satisfaction with Council’s performance and identify ways to provide improved or more effective service delivery.

“The survey will enable us to identify priorities for the region and improve services and communication with our communities,” Mayor Antonio said.

“Survey results will contribute to the development of the next Corporate Plan to set the Council’s direction and priorities from 2020-2024”.

Eight hundred residents over the age of 18 will be selected randomly to complete the survey via telephone from 21 August to 1 September, 2017. The sample will have a demographic spread across age, gender and location to ensure survey results are representative of the region.

The broader community will have the opportunity to complete the survey online via Council’s Your Say website or in hard copy from 4 to 15 September, 2017. Hard copy surveys will be available from Customer Service Centres and libraries.

Residents will be asked to rate their level of satisfaction in the areas of services and facilities, Council’s Corporate Plan and community engagement.

TRC Stakeholder Engagement and Communication portfolio leader Cr Megan O'Hara Sullivan said the survey would enable Council to benchmark its performance against other regional councils.

“The survey will allow us to compare our performance with other councils and will also create a valuable baseline for future surveys,” Cr O’Hara Sullivan said.

“I strongly encourage all residents to have their say on Council’s services to help guide budget decisions and priorities”.

Survey responses will be confidential and Council will not have access to individual feedback.

The results will be available via Council’s website and BOLD magazine during early 2018.
