Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) will upgrade the Bostock Road Bridge in the Lemontree district from mid-June.

TRC Deputy Mayor and Infrastructure Services Committee chair Cr Carol Taylor said work at the bridge, between Pampas-Horrane Road and Lemontree Road was expected to take up to six months to complete, weather permitting.

“The project will offer numerous benefits for Lemontree district residents,” Cr Taylor said.

“Council will widen the existing single lane bridge to a two-lane concrete bridge.

“The upgrade will greatly improve transport efficiency for heavy vehicles, emergency services and disaster response teams.

“This work will aid public safety and offer far more reliable and serviceable traffic conditions for residents.

“This is a vital connection over the Condamine River for the surrounding communities and also a busy heavy vehicle route, especially around harvest time.

“The nature of the work will mean the bridge will be closed to traffic during this time.

“Bostock Road will be closed to general traffic between Pampas-Horrane Road and Lemontree Road, however local access will be permitted on either side of the bridge.

“Please plan ahead for your trips and follow all signage for the safety of motorists and construction workers.

“Council has notified nearby residents. Every effort will be made to minimise any inconvenience during the works.”

This project is proudly supported by the Australian Government’s Bridges Renewal Program with 50% funding. Toowoomba Regional Council is contributing the other 50% funding.
