Superstar Boy George turned his chair for Toowoomba teenager Brittania Clifford-Pugh on The Voice Blind Auditions last night.

Boy George picked the local girl for his team after she performed her version of “Safe and Sound” by The Civil Wars which features on the Hunger Games soundtrack.

George telling Brittania, the first ever Muslim contestant, they both had a message to tell the world.

Brittania hopes to ‘crush some stereotypes’ by being on The Voice saying, "Just because you look a certain way, you're a certain faith or you come from somewhere, you believe something, it doesn't have to change the fact that you're an artist and a musician."
