Town in Shock over Death of Well-known Resident
Calls for speed reduction
Well-known Yuleba resident, 84-year-old Shirley Miller, was tragically struck by a truck and killed earlier this week, sparking an outcry from locals to reduce speed limits.
Mrs Miller died in a Toowoomba Hospital where she had been taken after she was hit while crossing the main street of Yuleba.
The popular resident had sustained serious leg injuries; however, she sadly passed away on Monday afternoon.
Residents believe the accident could have been avoided.
Mrs Miller was struck in an 80km/h zone but locals say the speed limit through the town should be reduced by 20km/h to 60km/h.
The accident remains under investigation by the Forensic Crash Unit.
