Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) is encouraging interested people to have their say on Toowoomba’s inner city car parking via the online CBD Car Parking Survey. Submissions close on November 26.

TRC Strategic Planning and Economic Development portfolio leader Cr Anne Glasheen said Council was seeking responses from business owners, shoppers and CBD workers about how, when and where they visited or parked in the CBD.

“There is a competing need in Toowoomba for all-day worker parking and short to medium-stay customer parking, which is vital for business turnover.

“There are opportunities to look at how readily smart parking technology, such as real time data on available parking spaces and additional payment options via smartphones, could be introduced and used.

“This latest research will allow Council to provide reliable and independent data to organisations and businesses that are interested in investing in the CBD.

“It will also help Council identify efficiencies in parking options across the CBD that will benefit business owners, shoppers and workers.
