Calling on all Garden City people handy with tools - you are being encouraged to pick up a free pallet from the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation to help raise funds for their littliest patients.

You could make a cubby, a billycart or whatever you can think of, just pick up a pallet or two and create something new.

It's all part of an upcycle furniture fundraiser being run with Southern Cross Austereo, when something old is turned into something new, auctioned off with the proceeds going towards the pediatric unit of the Toowoomba Hospital.

Upcycled wooden pallets will be auctioned off at a cocktail evening in June to raise funds for the “Give Me 5 4 Kids” appeal.

Toowoomba hospital foundation CEO Alison Kennedy says there are many great ideas:

“We’ve already had people talking about making tables, outdoor furniture, a man is even making a rocking horse for the appeal.  The items will be re-gifted back to the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation to auction off.”

The fundraiser event will be held in June so there is plenty of time to get your creative juices flowing!

Pallets can be picked up from the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation office at 41 Joyce Street, from now until April 27.
