Vandals have attacked one of Toowoomba’s most loved tourist spots, spray-painting the Nazi swastika in the Tobruk Memorial Drive car park.

The vandalism occurred happened sometime overnight on Sunday June 17th and was discovered by a resident who contacted The Chronicle.

The resident said the matter has been reported to council, but he was shocked to see something like this in the Garden City given all the work done to integrate foreign nationals in Toowoomba.

Toowoomba councillor Joe Ramia said TRC was investigating the vandalism.    "Council is aware of the vandalism and is in the process of having this removed," he said.   "Defacing a surface in this way is completely unacceptable and the offensive nature of the vandalism is something we do not tolerate as a community."
