Safety upgrade works on the Warrego Highway between Oakey and Dalby will recommence at the end of September.

Works include completing line-marking of the wide centre line treatments, audio tactile line marking and placement of retro reflective pavement markers.

The Queensland road rules for wide centre line treatments are the same as conventional centre lines.

They are designed to reduce the risk of head-on crashes by providing additional separation between on-coming vehicles.

Motorists will see four different types of overtaking directional signs.

These safety treatments will become more common along the Warrego Highway as the Warrego Highway Upgrade Program (WHUP) progresses in 2017 and 2018.

Night works for the line-marking between Oakey and Dalby are expected to be completed by the end of October.

Reduced speed limits, directional signage and traffic control will be in place during the night works. Motorists are asked to obey directional signage and take care while travelling through the area.
