The Toowoomba courts have granted bail to a woman accused of running down a pedestrian with a car in Brisbane.

A 35-year-old woman fronted court after allegedly hitting a man after mounting the footpath in South Brisbane on Sunday.

Police objected to bail yesterday saying the mother of three was caught texting her ex-husband to try to create an alibi.

The courts granted bail on the condition she attend the Toowoomba Mental Health Unit.
