A woman was robbed while waiting for a bus early on the morning of Wednesday October 24.

The incident occurred around 5:44am.  The victim was sitting on a bus station bench at a shopping centre when the offender has walked past her - returning approximately 20 seconds later.

The male asked the woman for a lighter, as she was getting her lighter out of her handbag, the offender reached across the woman and grabbed her handbag.  A struggle over the bag took place but the robber won - managing to take the handbag from the woman, and then running east towards an old white sedan.

The vehicle was edging out of a carpark when the offender got into the car via the back passenger door.

The woman ran after the offender and tried to open the door to the car but was knocked down as the vehicle drove away.  The woman suffered minor abrasions.

Police checks indicate the same pictured vehicle below was reported stolen and had committed offences in Chinchilla.

This vehicle has been involved in a number of offences in Chinchilla, Toowoomba and Goondiwindi.

The male person involved in this robbery is described as being of Aboriginal or Torres Straight Islander appearance, light complexion, 16 – 17 years old, black fuzzy short hair, approximately 177cm tall and  slim build.

He was wearing a black baseball style cap with a white motif possibly Adidas brand, blue short sleeve t’shirt, black knee length shorts and joggers of a dark description.

The vehicle is described as a white Ford Ghia sedan, registration number 206 IP.
