Young Girl Sustains Serious Injuries After Being Hit By Car

Police are investigating a serious traffic crash that occurred yesterday afternoon in Darling Heights.

Initial investigations indicate about 3:15pm on Platz Street near the intersection with Ella Court, an 11-year-old child was struck by a vehicle and sustained serious head injuries.

She and three friends were walking home from school when the accident happened.

It was reported that a second child was treated for shock at the scene.

The girl was taken to the Toowoomba Hospital and later airlifted to Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital in a critical condition where she remains in a serious but stable condition.

Police are continuing their investigations.
