It’s a bizarre driving crime that would be humorous if it wasn’t so hazardous, the Esperance woman caught and charged with dangerous driving after she was observed towing another vehicle with an elastic strap and rubber band set-up.

The 26-year-old was charged by a magistrate in the Esperance Courthouse earlier this week, and was found guilty of five different crimes, no authority to drive, failing to affix number plate, refusing to provide oral sample for drug testing, possession of drugs AND the dangerous driving charge.

She was ordered to pay over $2000 and had her license disqualified for a further nine-months (her license was already suspended).

Police was alerted to the precarious situation when pedestrians noticed the straps building tension as they were pulled away by the second vehicles weight before lurching forward when the car broke.

Generally, you only need one thing to stop you from driving, apparently for this young woman you need over five!

Sean had a chat about the incident on the Triple M Break Show, and you can hear is embedded here at the link below.
