Shocking and sad story emerging from the Esperance Police Station with a man from Nulsen charged for allegedly attacking and killing a two and a half year old Labrador Border Collie cross with an axe.

It is alleged that between 1pm and 11pm on Saturday, April 21, the man accused attacked his dog with the weapon. The animal later died from injuries sustained in the incident. 

Police are concerned any further details given out may lead to vigilante action against the man. 

The Nulsen man has been charged with Cruelty to Animals and is due to appear in the Esperance Magistrates Court on Tuesday, May 15.
