In keeping with wanting to discover so much more of this beautiful town of Esperance and its surrounding areas/suburbs, I was invited to head on the road with local beekeeper and honey producer "Len", to see how he collects honey and works on his various bee keeping sites.
Geared up in a beekeeper suit. I was ready for action. And after only 2 minutes of observations with thousands of bees swirling around me, I got stung on the neck and conceded defeat to then watch from the inside of a car.
The job is certainly not for the faint at heart and Len takes it in with stride. Regardless of being stung, it was a very worthwhile experience learning about the job from Len and learning more about another local in the community.
