Esperance's West Beach - Australia's BEST and WHITEST BEACH!

It’s a fact that us Esperance folk have known for a long time… We have the BEST and WHITEST BEACHES, not just in the south-east corner of WA, nor just the stae but in the ENTIRE COUNTRY!

I’ve applied to the Guinness Book of Records for Lucky Bay to be proclaimed the Whitest Beach internationally (still waiting on a reply from our European record-keepers) but before that we can celebrate one of our local swimming holes through escape.com.au, who have sited WEST BEACH as the best beach in Australia!

Two water-crazed Victorians travelled the country for a year, searching high and low for the best Australian beach. The pair, Caroline Clements and Dillon Seitchik-Reardon, blogged their adventure and ranked Esperance’s closest and local as their favourite.

This is what they wrote:

“We’ve seen a lot of beautiful water and white sand – Whitehaven Beach and Bay of Fires are a couple of places that come to mind. However, not even they can compare to the immaculate clarity of Esperance’s West Beach. What makes it even more amazing is that it exists in a low-key suburban neighbourhood, not in a national park or on a remote island. Any day of the year you will find people frolicking in the water, dogs herding children around the shallows, and picnickers looking on from the cliffs.”

They rated West Beach above Whitehaven Beach, in the Whitsundays in Queensland and Wineglass Bay in Tasmania’s Freycinet National Park.
