Gold Coasters will soon be able to take a holiday to sunny North Queensland without making several stop-overs along the way.
Airnorth today announced new direct flights from Coolangatta up to Townville, and on to Darwin.
The seasonal service will run twice weekly, on Wednesdays and Sundays, from April 3 until October 20 next year.
Tourism Minster Kate Jones welcomed the new route.
"Making it as easy as possible for visitors to travel to key destinations throughout the state is vital to growing our tourism industry,” she said.
“These flights will help to lure visitors, ensure tourists stay longer and experience more of what we have to offer in Queensland”.
