Queensland Decriminalises Abortion

19th Century laws making abortion illegal in Queensland have been scrapped overnight, after an emotional two days of debate in state parliament.

The government's decriminalisation Bill passed with a comfortable margin of 50 votes to 41.

The LNP's Jann Stuckey and Labor's Meaghan Scanlon were the only two Gold Coast MPs to vote in favour of the Bill.
