Alleged Christmas cat killer granted bail

A man has been granted bail after allegedly telling police he beat a cat to death on Christmas night.

Dylan Clarke was charged with two counts of serious animal cruelty after police were called to a Labrador home on Monday after reports of a disturbance.

When they arrived they reportedly found a kitten dead on the sidewalk, as well as a dead adult cat inside the house.

The 25-year-old was also charged with possession of cannabis and drug utensils.

He was granted bail in Southport Magistrates Court under the condition he surrender his two pet snakes to the RSPCA.
