Arrest made over violent burglary

Helensvale man in custody

A Helensvale man has been charged over a violent home invasion in Highland Park last month.

Two men allegedly entered the home on Kilpatrick Ct armed with a gun and bolt cutters on July 29.

A resident suffered a gash to his arm, after he was struck with the bolt-cutters.

He had to be taken to hospital to get it stitched up.

Police said the intruders rummaged through the rooms, before taking off with some property.

A 29-year-old man has since been charged with enter dwelling with intent and armed robbery in company with personal violence.

He has faced court and was remanded in custody.

He will reappear in Southport Magistrates Court on September 5.

Investigations are continuing.
