The hunt is on for a man involved in a violent carjacking at Southport.
Police said a 68-year-old was sitting in the passenger seat of a car on Queen Street around 6:40am on Tuesday, when another man jumped inside.
The pair became involved in a struggle, before the offender pulled out two knives to slash the victim on his arms and legs, who then fell out of the vehicle.
He was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
While the offender was last seen driving off towards Wardoo Street in the blue 2003 Holden Rodeo utility, with Queensland plates OOO-759.
