The fire season has started early this year with Gold Coast fire crews fighting two blazes.
A massive house fire broke out at a home at Clagiraba on Tuesday afternoon.
Four crews were battling the blaze from 2pm, with police and paramedics on scene.
No one was believed to be inside.
Meantime, seven crews were fighting to contain an out-of-control bushfire in the Gold Coast Hinterland.
It broke out at Cedar Creek at 7am, with a water bombing plane brought in to help.
A smoke haze was expected to swirl around the northern end of the city in the afternoon.
