Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony Is Finally Here!

Celebs and royalty take the stage

Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony Is Finally Here!

The Gold Coast will be on show to the world tonight, when the Opening Ceremony officially kicks off the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

More than 1.5 billion people are set to tune in to watch the celebrations unfold.

Details of the spectacular are being kept a secret but lifesavers and indigenous performers will play a big role, with the centre of the Carrara Stadium to be transformed into a beach.

There will be plenty of Aussie star power there as well!

Delta Goodrem, Ricki-lee Coulter and Dami Im will hit the stage, while we're hearing whispers Chris Hemsworth, Margot Robbie and Keith Urban could be there as well!

Prince Charles and Camilla will be in attendance, with the next-in-line set to officially open the Games on behalf of his Mum, Queen Elizabeth II.

You can catch all the action on Channel 7 at 8pm AEST.

A warning for anyone heading along, there will be a massive security operation underway including road closures and airport-like bag checks around the stadium, as police, the army and security guards working to keep the 35,000 strong crowd safe.
