A man has been charged with a string of offences after allegedly forcing his way into a Tweed Heads South unit in a domestic violence overnight.
Once inside, police claim the 23-year-old punched and kicked the 19-year-old female resident who was know to him, and also damaged a computer.
Officers attended the property around 6:30 on Tuesday evening and arrested the man, before searching a car parked nearby.
They allegedly found cannabis, ice, prescription drugs and cash.
The man was taken to the police station and charged with aggravated break and enter, common assault, multiple drug charges and other offences.
He was due to face Tweed Heads Local Court on Wednesday.
