Fears for former bikie

Gold Coast police hold grave concerns for former bikie, Benjamin Joseph Thornton.

It's believed the 26-year-old may be injured following reports of a brawl outside the Kirra Sports Club around 10 o'clock on Tuesday night.

Shots were apparently fired before two dark coloured vehicles, a ute and a four-wheel-drive, were seen speeding away from the carpark.

Police found a white BMW at the scene, that they believe Mr Thornton had been driving.

Detective Inspector Mark Hogan says items and evidence found at the scene "raise concern with us that someone may have been injured."

"What we located and what we know need, raises serious concerns for the welfare of this person," he said.

Police have released photos of Mr Thornton and urge anyone who's seen him, or knows anything about the incident to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

"Hopefully he's ok and we can speak to him and our worries will be put to bed," said Det. Ins. Hogan.
