The RSPCA is hoping to find forever homes for as many pets as possible this weekend, right across the country.
It is slashing adoption fees for all creatures, great and small, for the three-day Clear The Shelter event.
Adoption and foster care coordinator for the Gold Coast Melissa Martin said News South Wales has been running the adoption event for the past two years, but this year the whole of Australia is getting involved.
"Queensland actually has over 600 animals looking for homes and that's dogs, cats, puppies, kittens, goats, horses, birds, reptiles: all of their adoption fees have been reduced right down to $29 for the weekend," she said.
You will have to travel up to Brisbane if you want to add a new canine member to your family though, there are only cats at the Miami shelter, but the ones that are there are adorable!
"We're a cat adoption centre here so we're going to have close to 40 cats and kittens over the weekend looking for homes," she added.
