Four teens charged over glassing

One man has been glassed and his mate kicked and punched by a group of teenagers in Southport.

The pair was apparently dining at a restaurant on Nerang St when four boys approached them and a fight broke out.

Police alleged one of the youngsters pulled out a knife and threatened a 22-year-old before grabbing a glass from the table and hitting him over the head with it.

Both men were then kicked and punched before the teens grabbed a wallet, phone and tablet and ran off.

The 22-year-old was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital with cuts to his head and hand, while the 27-year-old was treated by paramedics at the scene.

Police later arrested four boys aged between 14 and 16.

Three have been charged with robbery offences, the other is facing a possession of stolen property.
