Two people have been charged after police found a stash of drugs and weapons while searching a ute in Nerang.
Cocaine, methylamphetamine, knives, knuckledusters, a rifle and ammunition were among the items allegedly seized freom the Toyota Hilux, when it was pulled over in Southport Nerang Road about 7.30pm Sunday.
Gold Coast Rapid Action Senior Sergeant Mat Kelly said the vehicle wasn't pulled over by chance.
“This is an example of how police use intelligence driven strategies to combat crime," he siad.
"Last night’s arrest highlights the success of targeted patrols.
"A number of weapons and drugs are off of our streets and that is a good win for police and the broader community.”
A 31-year-old Burleigh man was due in court on Monday charged with 12 mostly drug possession and weapons-related offences.
A 21-year-old Gaven woman was issued with a Notice to Appear charged with unlawful possession of a weapon (knife and knuckleduster).
