A terrifying ordeal for a taxi-driver in Southport when a man smashed his window with a hammer and demanded he hand over his cash.
The driver was parked on Muir Street around 12:25am on Tuesday when the man approached the car.
It's believed he tried to open the car door after the driver gave him the money and his mobile, but was scared off when the cabbie started honking the horn.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen the incident to come forward.
The man was described as caucasian in appearance, slim, around 180cm tall and wearing a dark hooded jumper.
