Former Billabong CEO Matthew Herrin has been sentenced to eight years jail for fraud and forgery offences.

The 44-year-old forged his ex-wife's signature to purchase a $13.5 million dollar property in Surfers Paradise in 2008, and then his brother's signature as a witness to the document.

His crimes have left the Commonwealth Bank more than nine million dollars out of pocket.

Mr Perrin will be eligible for parole in 2020.
