A 13-year-old boy has been charged with armed robbery after allegedly pointing a toy gun at a service station worker.
The teenager is accused of trying to buy cigarettes from the store on Brygon Creek Drive in Upper Coomera around 6pm on Tuesday, before pulling out a fake gun when he was refused.
That's when a member of the public jumped in and grabbed the boy, holding him in place until police arrived.
The teen is also accused of kicking and smashing a window during the struggle.
He was charged with one count each of armed robbery and wilful damage.
