A teenager has been charged with allegedly crashing a stolen car at Robina over the weekend.

Police claim they saw the ute driving erratically at Burleigh Heads at around 9:45pm on Sunday, before running a red light.

A short time later, the same ute crashed in University Drive at Robina.

Officers say when they arrived two men allegedly tried to flee the scene, who were both later taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital with minor injuries.

A 19-year-old man from Robina has been charged with a string driving offences, and is due to face Southport Magistrates Court on February 9.
