"They were all loved and they'll never be forgotten."
Those are the words of eight-year-old Chloe-May Karbealo, who has spoken out for the first time, three weeks after escaping the car crash at Tumbulgum that claimed the lives of her Mum Stephanie King, brother Jacob and sister Ella-Jane.
Tweed police held a charity movie screening in northern New South Wales on Sunday, to help raise funds for Chloe and her dad Matt Karbealo, who both went along and spoke to Channel Nine outside the cinema.
Mr Kabealo said he and his daughter are getting by.
"I'm being strong for my daughter and we're just going to get through it the best we can," he said.
"I unbuckled my seat-belt and I tried to go up for air and then I just kept floating up out of something and then I got out," she said.
Chloe then swam to shore and ran to a farmhouse 200m away for help.
"They just took me in, let me get into clean clothes and cleaned up all the cuts on my feet," Chloe said.
A Go Fund Me page set up for Matt and his daughter has raised more than $150,000.
