It was Goldfields Football League Grand Final Day; for Diorites Player Craig Mitchell a delivery inside fifty was his to defend. In that process he thought he was alone with eyes for the ball and poised to take a mark as he had done several times before in defence. Although in that bit of play, he suffered some pretty serious injuries that would not only keep him from returning to the field in the Grand Final but also resulted in a swift transfer to Perth via the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
"Bear" as he is affectionately named, is a very humble fella and as you can tell, does not like to put himself ahead of others. He caught up with our own Brendon Simpson to talk about the game, the injury and the recovery.
