The Australian Rugby Union decision to rid the Super Rugby Comp of the Western Force will ripple through Junior and Country competitions according to Ian Agot from the Eastern Goldfields Rugby Union Association.

"Its going to have a huge effect - the desire to play rugby, you really want to step up your level for the chance of making a Western Force or Perth Spirit, I think its going to deter a lot of player from playing rugby and moving onto a different code"

Ray Finlayson Sporting Complex and the extra time needed for the establishment of the facility and infrastructure did not help and this now has further given a dent to local Rugby fans. The mining industry has already not helped the EGRUA and that has seen the competition fall from four to three teams. While the prospect of representing in Rugby is not just limited to Seniors with Agot also indicating Juniors are falling away too " Juniors were looking pretty good at the start of the year, trying to keep them to the code has been the difficult part" Agot said.

The Local Rugby Union season finished on Saturday August 5th where Boulder won their third flag in a row.
