The State Seat of Kalgoorlie remains on a knife edge after a Labor Surge on First Preferences. Labor Candidate Darren Forster led the count for most of Saturday night until strong Pre-Polling in person voting pushed the Liberals Kyran O'Donnell into first place. The Nationals WA Candidate Tony Crook is currently in third spot after swapping between second and third on First Preference voting.

Glenney Wilson from Breakfast with Glenney caught up with Mr Forster at the Labor Function post voting and he said "The Community got the message that Labor is about the future of this region" he also went on to praise Mr O'Donnell and the Liberal Party for their local campaign as well.

Mr Crook is a little more subdued this evening as counting moves into pre-poll counts and preference distributions. However he is in a positive frame of mind "What Ever will be will be" he told friends.

After taking the lead with 59% counted Mr O'Donnell said "I do have butterflies because I'm Anxious. If i am Successful I will work with the Labor Government - I've met Mark McGowan - He is a nice bloke"

Counting has ceased now for the Seat of Kalgoorlie and a Winner will be determined in coming days.
