Kalgoorlie Consolidated Gold Mines have advised that there will be some closures in coming weeks with a cutback on the Western Wall Pending.

The wall is on the City side of the pit and closures will impact Goldfields Highway due to blasting. The area subject to the blasting was also impacted by a Rock Slip earlier in 2017.

KCGM Sustainability and External Relations Manager Jarrod Riley said KCGM’s priority is the safety of its workers while minimising the disturbance to nearby residents.
“The remediation works will be taking place between mid-July to mid-September, in which KCGM will need to do a number of surface blasts,” Mr Riley said.
“Prior to each blast, a section of the Goldfield’s Highway and the end of Clancy Street will be closed for around 15 minutes to ensure the safety of drivers and nearby residents.”
Road Closures will be broadcast by KCGM Social Media Channels and Letter Drops.
