Leaks to be Plugged

Located near Kookynie in the Northern Goldfields, Niagara Dam is set to receive some love and attention to help preserve a popular Goldfields Camping Spot. There are leaks in the Dam wall and President of Shire of Menzies Jill Dwyer told Glenney from Triple M Goldfields " We will be putting in some injections, this will fill the voids in the wall".

This will be the start of Preservation and Restorations to an area constructed in the late 1800's. Originally Niagara Dam was to supply a mining community around the area with fresh water. The Dam also served as a location where thirsty Locomotives on the way between Kalgoorlie and Leonora could refill with fresh water. The restoration and preservation is being over seen by a Working Party keep to preserve the history and its attraction.
