If you're a fan of the old pushbike, you can help kick childhood cancer this month.

The Great Cycle Challenge is hoping to raise $3 million for Children's Medical Research and help up to 600 Aussie kids with cancer.

One Kalgoorlie girl is completely and utterly nailing it.

At the age of just 8, Imogen Kuipers has raised over $20,000 since the challenge began.

Her number one fan and father Andrew says the cause really affected Imogen.

“I wanted to do it to get fit but Imy saw some photos of the sick kids that are helped by cancer research and she just burst into tears," Andrew said.

“She said she wanted to help. I wanted to go hard and do long distances but how do you say no to that?"

One of their biggest challenges is to ride during the school holidays while they are away in Esperance. Imogen asked to do 1000km but dad has negotiated her down to 600km.

“Last year when we went there on holidays everyone got behind us and at one point we had 35 people riding with us," Andrew laughs. “It became this community event which was great. Imy’s already raised $6000 this year but I think she’s get more."
