A South Boulder man has been charged by Kalgoorlie Police over several serious offences which occurred on Saturday June 2.

The 21 year old was allegedly driving a black Holden Commodore sedan in a series of burnouts around Maritana and Hannan Streets, between 12:37am and 1:05am. Many pedestrians were in the area at the time.

It is also alleged that he made a false report to Police later that morning, regarding his car being stolen.

The man was arrested and charged with:

  • Reckless Driving
  • Three counts of Endanger Life, Health or Safety of A Person
  • Creating False Belief

He is due to appear in the Kalgoorlie Magistrates Court on Monday June 11 2018.

Goldfields-Esperance District Acting Inspector Peter Healy thanked the community for their support.

“The information provided to us by the public was critical in our investigation and directly led to this man being arrested and charged,” he said.

“These incidents occurred at a busy time in the Kalgoorlie CBD, when there were a large number of pedestrians in the area out enjoying the nightlife. Their lives were put at risk and the outcome could have been much different, but thankfully nobody was hurt.”
