A huge storm that hit Kalgoorlie Boulder has resulted in no major injuries. A very lucky community after 107kmh winds tore at roofs, powerlines, building and trees. Thousands of tress across Kalgoorlie Boulder have been affected and over 1200 calls made to Western Power with faults and powerlines down. 

The weather event also saw a structure fire on the Corner of Maritana and Collins Street which Department of Fire and Emergency Services had crews tied up with to prevent further loss of property in the vicinity. 

A common scene around Kalgoorlie Boulder this afternoon. 

 

Power will be out for a long period that could head into tomorrow morning as crews from Perth, Nearby areas and locally work to restore services. 

 

Traffic Lights will be affected by power outages so please be cautious around Kalgoorlie Boulder.
