A Beach Volleyball World Tour Begins In Shepparton This Weekend

Hold onto you volleyballs, things are about to heat up town! 

The Federation Internationale De Volleyball World Tour is back again for another year kicking off in Victoria Park Lake today until Sunday 4th February.

You may have noticed two temporary purpose-built courts and a warm-up court have been constructed, and a 500-seat grandstand erected at the Victoria Park Lake precinct.

The four-day sporting carnival will see teams compete from 17 different countries including Canada, Cyprus, Fiji, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Thailand, United States, Venezuela.

With national and international TV and media exposure for Greater Shepparton and will generate up to $1million in economic stimulation.

Greater Shepparton residents have the opportunity to see the best volleyball players in action from around the world. Many players are coming to Shepparton as a prelude to the Commonwealth Games at the Gold Coast”.

From Thursday to the Sunday night, the Beach Carnival will come alive with 15 food trucks, entertainment, amusement rides and fireworks.
