Ombudsman Natalie James says growers should be especially mindful about piecework agreements - they must be set at a rate that would allow the average competent worker to pick enough to earn 15% above the hourly minimum.

Ms James says with the labour hire provider presumably taking a cut of the agreement, the question growers need to ask is ‘how much are the workers receiving?
