CFA crews have battled a house fire in Rushworth this morning, bringing flames under control around 5:20am.

The single story weatherboard on Old Place Road was discovered well alight at 4:24 this morning - with trucks from Stanhope, Rushworth and Colbinabbin assisting in the near hour-long firefight.


Watt Road Bridge in Mooroopna will be shut today between 8:45 this morning and 4pm this afternoon.

Motorists who take the back route between Kialla and Mooroopna are urged to head to the causeway, as engineers have discovered part of the bridge surface has failed and is in need of immediate repair.
