State Member for Shepparton Suzanna Sheed has a wish-list hoping to be fulfilled --- as the States 4th Budget is announced. Better rail infrastructure connecting Shepparton and Melbourne high on the list, as is the implementation of the Shepp Education Plan; a mother-baby Unit and 2nd stage of the Goulburn Valley Health redevelopment.

Specsavers is calling for regions residents to have their children routinely eye tested on the back of research showing up to 25 per cent of aussie kids are suffering from an undiagnosed eye condition.

Recent survey are also suggesting 1 in 3 children have never had their eyes tested before despite doctors recommending children get them tested every two years once they hit 3 years old.

Naomi Barber from Specsavers says undiagnosed conditions can have detrimental effects on a child's development.

Search and Rescue efforts can now be carried out safer in our backyard, after the Shepparton crew received a new 32 thousand dollars state of the art river boat yesterday.

Unveiled by Member for Murray Damian Drum, the vessel is a massive boost on their previous 23 year old tinny.

The money being put up by a number of groups including the state government, fundraising efforts and the Shepparton Triathlon Club.

Parents and carers of children turning 4 by APRIL 30 2019, can now register kindergarten enrolments.

The state funded system allows eligible children to access up to 15 hours of kindy a week -- delivered by a qualified early childhood teacher, in the year leading up to school for free or a low-cost.

The Shepparton Gators have claimed their 7th win so far this season - beating the Collingwood All Stars 90 to 82.

The win slots us into second place on the ladder behind the Keysborough Cougars - the only team to beat us in the opening 6 rounds of the competition.

 

Stars at the weekend included MATT BARLETT with 28 points - and American's CAMERON VINES and SPENCER COLEMAN with 22 and 20 points respectively.

The Goulburn Valley Suns have won their second cross-conference clash of the season - beating Brunswick City 5-nil.

CRAIG CARLEY and WILLIAM MARSHALL both kicked 2 goals each - while JAMIE ENGLAND also managed to find the net following a penalty in the 55th minute.

The win keeps the Suns nestled at 7th on the Ladder - with 4 wins, 5 losses and draw.
