Greater Shepparton City Council have launched their 2018/19 Tourism and Major Events Calendar to over 100 delegates in the tourism industry on Monday 25 June.
The events calendar includes a range of events across different categories, including arts and culture, food and wine, business, motoring and sporting events and more.
Some new events are set to make their debut, such as the 2018 Shepparton Food and Wine Expo, Fruit Growers Victoria Conference, Australian Women in Agriculture Conference, VicSport CEO’s Conference, Golf Victoria Senior Amateur Championships and the Netball Victoria State Titles.

Greater Shepparton City Council Mayor Kim O’Keeffe said, “The calendar has a strong focus on week long high participation events including the region securing School Sport Australia Junior National’s Soccer Championships, Basketball Australia Under 14 Girls Club National Championships, Victorian Country Week Tennis and the Tennis Seniors Australia Teams Carnival and Individual Championships.”
“One of the biggest highlights on the calendar is the 2019 BMX Australia National Championships which will see over 1,800 individual competitors and 4,000 visitors across a nine day period from around the country generating an estimated $3.8 million in economic stimulation.”
“We anticipate the calendar will generate over $50 million for the economy keeping local business busy and the economy strong across a number of sectors including accommodation, hospitality retail and tourism” said Cr O’Keeffe.
