Narrogin Detectives have charged a 25 year old woman as a result of their investigation into a series of fraud offences relating to the sale of Great Dane puppies.

In 2017 the woman sold Great Dane puppies to members of the public.  It is alleged she told buyers the puppies were purebred with certified pedigree papers, a full vet history and microchipping.   It is also alleged the pedigree certificates issued by the woman were fraudulent and some of the vet and microchip records had been altered.

The woman from Chapman Hill has been charged with 11 counts of Gains Benefit by Fraud.  She is due to appear before the Busselton Magistrates Court on 13 March 2018.

Inquiries are continuing and anyone with any information relating to this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Nicole McPheat from the Great Dane Lovers Association of Western Australia offers advice to any person thinking about purchasing a Great Dane and what to look for in puppies and the breeder.  If you want to purchase a puppy from a registered breeder, inquiries can be made through the Dogs West website as the registered breeders and available puppies are listed.
