Crews forced their way into the house

ARSON CLAIMS CLARENDON VALE HOME

Tasmania Fire Service was called just before 11pm to a house burning in Saladin Circle, Clarendon Vale.

Crews from Rokeby, Clarence and Hobart were dispatched and on arrival found thick black smoke issuing from the building.

Station Officer Val Ansett said 'Crews quickly forced their way into the house, conducted a search and extinguished the blaze'.

The house, vacant at the time, was extensively damaged with an estimated bill around $100 000.

TFS Fire Investigators have deemed the fire deliberate and the investigation has been handed over to Tasmania Police.
