Several roads throughout Hobart will be closed today for the World Elder Abuse Awareness Day Walk.
Between 2 - 3 pm today streets affected are :
- Elizabeth St below Patrick St to Bathurst St.
- Elizabeth St at the intersection with Liverpool St.
- Bathurst St at the intersection of Murray St.
and Bathurst St at the intersection with Criterion St.
The road closures will only occur when participants are on or approaching that section of roadway.
Meantime, Maurice Blackburn Wills Principal Andrew Simpson says financial abuse remained among the most highly reported form of elder abuse in Australia, however many people remain unaware of the key signs to look out for with respect to elder families and friends who may be at risk.
