Tasmania’s Sam Walker is celebrating with a Gold Medal in Sydney at 2017 Australian Athletics Championships
On day two at the Sydney Olympic Park Athletic Centre, Sam won in the U16 para 100m, where the T38 athlete also broke the national record
Sam also won the boy’s under 16 ambulant 200m and qualified for the World Junior Para-Athletics Championships with his time of 12.48.

More than 3500 track and field athletes of all ages are competing in the 2017 Australian Athletics Championships, with the Sydney Olympic Park Athletic Centre hosting the inaugural combined Junior and Open aged championships for able-bodied and para-athletes which started on 26 March and concludes 2 April 2017.
The impressive eight day Championships are the largest annual athletics event in Australia and the Oceania-Pacific region and brings together participants of all ages in the pursuit of personal bests and national championship medals.
