Hobart's Hotel Soho has been damaged by fire overnight
Just after 10.30pm last night, Tasmania Fire Service attended a direct brigade fire alarm at Hotel Soho on Davey Street, Hobart.
First arriving firefighters found smoke issuing from the top floor of the dwelling with a rapid attack by firefighters, wearing breathing apparatus, quickly located a fire in the kitchen area.
It took 3 fire crews approximately 1 hour to fully extinguish the fire.
A search revealed the premise to be unoccupied at the time of the fire.
A fire watch was held at the premise overnight and Tasmania Fire Service Investigators are on scene this morning investigating the cause of the fire.
There are currently no estimates on damage and a further details will be issued after the investigation has been completed.
Hotel Soho management say they are trying to reopen as soon as investigations allow.

Fire Service Investigators along with electrical investigators deemed the fire to be accidental in nature caused by an electrical failure in an internal switchboard.
Damage to the building and contents is estimated at $350,000.
